Turning Awareness into Action


Dr. Dana E. Crawford will provide a 3-part series titled, "The Impact of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Work: Change, Stagnation, and Next Steps." In this three part session, Dr. Crawford will share lessons learned from conducting over 225 hours of trainings and workshops over the last 18 months.

In part 1, she has shared ways she has adjusted her work to respond to the anti-racism movement. For part 2, Dr. Crawford and Dr. Wycoff will discuss how diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB) has stagnated along with the barriers to anti-bias work for White people as well as members of the Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) community. Finally, in the concluding session, Dr. Crawford will provide concrete recommendations for anti-bias work that shifts from emotion-driven to value-driven strategic sustainable action.
